VINI BELLA TERRA is a relatively new company in Italy. It was founded in 2009 and the first vintage created was also 2009. VINI BELLA TERRA produces wines from both local and international grape varieties, mainly Primitivo, Negroamaro, Sangiovese, Chardonnay, Uva del Troya, Malvasia Nera, Fiano, Cabernet, Merlot and Syrah. The grapes are harvested in vineyards throughout Puglia, but primarily in the district of Salento. We use new equipment combined with the latest technology to produce modern wines to markets in Europe, America and Asia. 100% of the production is currently exported.

The name of the wine company is "VINI BELLA TERRA" while the winery is called "CANTINA GRANDE SALENTO", located in Manduria, Puglia. In 2012 VINI BELLA TERRA bought the cantina, which then was a cooperative of local winemakers. The winery was completely renovated and new equipment for the vinification of both red and white wines was installed. The capacity for both production and storage is 5m liters.

History of the area

In the iron rich, fertile red soil of Puglia the grapes thrive and share it with countless olive trees. The beauty of the landscape and sweetness of the climate draw travelers who dream of a relaxing holiday at wild beaches and crystal clear water. In the city of Manduria travelers are attracted by the suggestive street views of the old town, the extensive archaeological park, the many beautiful churches, castles, bell towers and a number of other sites witnessing of the ancient history. Today Manduria is a living city, sparkling with activities in different fields: from commerce to craftsmanship, from agriculture to tourism and culture.
The territory of Puglia includes eleven municipalities located in the area of Salento on the side of the Ionian Sea and is divided in the provinces of Taranto and Brindisi.
Primitivo is a dominating wine variety in the area. The mild climate all year round and a perfect amount of rain and sun, during the most suitable time for vineyards, produce quality grapes. Other grapes around Manduria are Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera and many more.
In Puglia the harvest of grapes for white wines starts in the first week of August and for red wines in the end of August and continues, depending on district and variety, until the end of September.
